What FlipIt does with your data

FlipIt identifies secondhand items you scan and estimates their resale value. To do that, the photos you capture during a scan are sent to our server and processed by Google's Gemini AI. Photos are processed to identify the item and are not used to identify people. We do not sell your data.

Data we process

• Scan photos — sent to our server and to Google (Gemini API) for identification. Google's API terms state paid-tier API data is not used to train their models.
• Your saved flips — item names, prices, photos, and the sale amounts you log are stored on your device. They are not uploaded.
• Account email — stored on your device. (Cloud accounts, when launched, will store your email on our server for login.)
• Support chats — messages you send to Ferris support are processed by our server and Google's Gemini API to generate replies.

What we don't do

• No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
• No ad tracking, no third-party analytics SDKs.
• No background camera use — the camera runs only while the app is open.

Data retention

Scan photos are processed transiently to answer your scan and are not kept as a library on our servers. On-device data (flips, profit history, settings) stays until you delete the app or remove items.

Your choices

You can deny camera access in iOS Settings (scanning won't work without it), delete individual flips in the app, or delete the app to remove all local data. Questions or deletion requests: contact us at the support address on the App Store listing.

Children

FlipIt is not directed at children under 13.
